Thank you for your interest in the Biere de Rock organized by The Rock Hoppers Brew Club, Castle Rock, Colorado.
You only need to register your information once and can return to this site to enter more brews or edit the brews you've entered. You can even pay your entry fees online if you wish.
If you are willing to judge or steward, please return to register on or after Sunday, December 3, 2017 6:00 AM, MST.
All entries must be Belgian or French inspired beers.
If an entry is entered into a subcategory that is not specificially Belgian or French inspired as defined by the BJCP (such as Historical Beer, Brett Beer, Experimental Beer, etc.), the entrant must provide further information as to why the entry is Belgian or French-inspired (e.g., yeast selection, Belgian or French base style, etc.). If an entry into one of these subcategories does not specifiy the Belgain or French inspiration or if supporting information is insufficient, it will be judged, but will be disqualified from medal contention.
Bière de Rock is an AHA sanctioned beer competition open to any amateur homebrewer age 21 or older.
All mailed entries must received at the mailing location by the shipping deadline - please allow for shipping time. All entries will be picked up from drop-off locations the day of the drop-off deadline after the indicated time. All entries must be handcrafted products, containing ingredients available to the general public, and made using private equipment by hobbyist brewers (i.e., no use of commercial facilities or Brew on Premises operations, supplies, etc.).
The main competition sponsor and organizing club, the Rock Hoppers Brew Club (aka RHBC), is not responsible for mis-categorized entries, mailed entries that are not received by the entry deadline, or entries that arrived damaged. RHBC reserves the right to combine styles for judging and to restructure awards as needed depending upon the quantity and quality of entries.
Qualified judging of all entries is the primary goal of our event. A minimum of two judges will evaluate and score each entry. The average of the scores will rank each entry. Each judge team will have at least one BJCP-ranked judge.
Brewers are not limited to one entry in each category but may only enter each subcategory once. Categories with a small number of entries may be combined at the discretion of the competition organizers. Subcategories with a large number entries my become medal categories at the discretion of the competition organizers.
The Competition Coordinator or other qualified person will review elements of beer categories and styles with each panel prior to judging. Best of Show judging will be determined by a Blue Ribbon Panel based on a second judging of the top winners. Judges in the Best of Show round will be BJCP Certified judges or higher, professional brewers, and/or Certified Cicerones or higher.
Bottles will not be returned to entrants.
